Having recently been named as one of the UK’s Top 50 Gastropubs in the Estrella Damm 2023 Awards, The Loch & the Tyne is the perfect place to unwind for a staycation with your loved ones.
Feast on the gorgeous tasting menu this Valentine’s Day, with mouth-watering dishes such as ‘Cod, mussels, whey sauce’ and ‘Lobster raviolo’ and an indulgent ‘Tiramisu, coffee ice cream’ to finish. With supplementary oysters and optional caviar and truffle throughout the menu, there’s no better place to celebrate in true British luxury than at The Loch & the Tyne.
Guests can accompany their meal with ‘love potions’ which include, ‘Cupid’s Misfire’ - Grey Goose Essences White Peach & Rosemary, strawberry & raspberry cordial, ‘That’s a Moray’ - Craigellachie 13YO, Monkey Shoulder Antica Formula, Italicus, or ‘St. Valentine’ - Salcombe New London Light, strawberry cordial, basil.
The Valentine’s menu at The Loch & the Tyne is priced at £75pp, with an extra £65pp for the wine pairing and is available on Saturday 11th and Tuesday 14th February only.

With floor-to-ceiling views of the stunning St. Ives coastline, let Ugly Butterfly play host to your Valentine’s Day celebrations this year. Using the finest quality local produce, Ugly Butterfly offers a Cornish dining experience like no other, with an exclusive tasting menu, guaranteed to make this Valentine’s Day unforgettable.
The Valentine’s menu starts with oysters (what else?) and includes decadent dishes such as ‘Lobster, butternut, curry’, ‘Turbot, mussels, kaffir’ and, for the main event, a delicious ‘Roast ex-dairy beef rib’ designed to share with your Valentine. The perfectly pink dessert is ‘Ruby chocolate, Rose, rhubarb’ and guests will receive a cute little chocolate cake to take home too – because what’s Valentine’s Day without chocolate?
The Valentine’s menu at Ugly Butterfly is priced at £125pp and is available on the big day itself, Tuesday 14th February and on Saturday 11th February for those who want to start their celebrations a little earlier this year.
