Rolls Royce Wraith Black Badge

The Pinnacle of Luxury Motoring

When you hear the name “Rolls Royce” the first thing that comes to your mind is refined luxury, superior comfort and timeless style. The New Rolls Royce Wraith Black Badge encapsulates those three pillars effortlessly to bring to the market a vehicle that is truly the principle of luxury motoring as we know it today and provides the most luxurious driving experience in a grand tourer ever seen.

Unlike other luxury cars Rolls-Royce’s line-up is highly bespoke, offering each model in a select trim and then allowing their owners to fully customise both interior and exterior to their individual liking, this allows a vehicle from Rolls-Royce to become extremely personal and goes beyond the average “car buying” experience. These cars are individuals in their own right, masterpieces of craftsmanship that is rarely seen today, making each car truly special and our Wraith was no exception.

First, we must talk about its glorious paint work, a deep burgundy flows across the exterior, highlighting every sweeping curve in the bodywork, black and silver chrome work wrap around the headlights, door pillars and door handles leaving the front grill in black, making the Warith look magnificent.

Our review model was the Black Badge edition, which means a division of Rolls-Royce have increased the torque, enlivened the steering and refined the suspension allowing the Black Badge Warith to become the best GT driving experience that many can only dream about. Sitting on two-tone 5-spoked carbon fibre wheels this spec of the Rolls-Royce Wraith is truly breath-taking, turning heads wherever we went and ending up on many social feeds, this Rolls-Royce is a work of art that must be seen and driven to fully appreciate their acknowledgement of producing “the most luxurious car in the world”.

Now the driving experience, open the wonderfully crafted suicide-doors and welcome to the most luxurious cabin you have ever seen or touched. This is where each owner can put their own stamp on a car, I am pleased to say ours was tastefully spec’d by Rolls-Royce with a rich black leather interior, chrome trim, beautifully woven carbon fibre surround that made it feel as if you were sitting in an ultra-modern gentleman’s club or in the homes of some of the best interior designers in the world.

A very special feature, which became even more exceptional at night was the “Star light” roof that showcased constellations and random “shooting-stars” it is a feature all the team fell in love with making every journey in this car even more memorable. That is what a GT car is meant to do, they are designed to provide the best driving experience possible to deliver exciting and ever lasting memories for all and this Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge did just that… Produced memories that I will forever cherish, and there are not many cars that can do that.

Let’s not forget that this is a GT and therefore, should offer seating for rear passengers, well it not only provides, but it also excels! Sitting in the back of the Wraith must be one of the most comfortable and luxurious experiences of my life, you are greeted by two fully sized seats, that of course are draped in the finest leather in the world along with individual controls to make it just so for anyone sitting in the back.

Another confirmation that the Wraith is designed so you can drive instead of fly, is the exceptional boot space, plenty of room for your suitcases, any other luggage or even your skis. Honestly, this Rolls-Royce leaves you feeling fresh and rejuvenated after a long drive and simply makes travel a complete breeze, after traveling nearly 400 miles we have never felt so fresh and relaxed whilst driving and can definitely say this is down to the fantastic suspension, the Wraith simply glides along all road surfaces, even on the Cornish country lanes, we didn’t feel a single rough bit of tarmac all this combined with its extremely responsive and light steering made it an even more enjoyable experience.

What is really mind-blowing is how well the engineers have produced such a powerful vehicle, yet it is completely silent, that is extremely impressive when you think the Wraith is equipped with a W12 6.6 litre engine with roughly 625 horse power, please don’t mistake me, this Black badge is very responsive and if you want power, it will produce it however, if you simply want to glide away, the Wraith will do that happily at 30, 60, 70 and slightly higher!

To conclude this review of the Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge I will say that I have never been so impressed by traditional craftsmanship.
