Aranyani

Aranyani is the first luxury international handbag brand from India. The name Aranyani means ‘The Goddess of the Forest’ which is synonymous with the brands focus on sustainable artistry, nature, and quality. Based in India and incorporating traditional design elements such as 24-karat gold-gilding, hand-painting, hand-embroidery and precious gemstones, Founder and Creative Director Haresh Mirpuri uses the finest Italian leathers to design timeless pieces with international appeal.

For this season, they have refined their initial range by introducing new collections, such as the Classic Monogram Collection and the Kesuda Motif Collection, and improved some design elements from existing ones like the Golden Trails Collection and the Stone Drops Collection.

The new hardware is 24k gold-plated, the new gemstones are bloodstones, just to name a few changes. Their new highlight pieces include the La Donna 10 from their Classic Monogram Collection, £1,260, the Diya Tote 19 from the Kesuda Motif Collection, £1,980, and the Aarya Top Handle 8 from the Stone Drops Collection, £2,280.

They opened their first concept store in Mayfair, London, surrounded by elegant Georgian townhouses and luscious greenery by Hyde Park, earlier this year, where you can discover and shop the full collection. The flagship store is split across two levels.

The ground floor area (550sq ft) is primarily given for retail — creating a calm and inviting space to showcase the exquisite quality and artisanal skills used to make each bag, whilst the lower ground floor space (850 sq ft) caters to a VIP experience, allowing the customisation of the product, in a luxurious yet approachable environment.

The store experience was based on the idea of a journey through Aranyani’s forest. A conceptual narrative that allowed the design team to consider light, colour, material and the sensory landscape as the customer moves through the spaces.

The customer starts their journey at the forest edge as they enter the store, moving deeper under the canopy as they explore – this is a place of curiosity and intrigue with a range of bags beautifully illuminated on elegant, tiered shelving as if resting on the branches of trees. The space draws the customer into the central ‘glade’, a sculptural area of soft light that illuminates hero products on large slabs of British stone and Irish marble.
